Before You Start:
Discuss how decorations can enrich a celebration, and gather the required materials: construction paper, Colorations® Glitter Paint, crepe paper streamers, stampers, scissors, string and tape or glue. Provide Easy Grip Stampers that have images representing the theme of your celebration or season.
Prepare bowls of Colorations® Glitter Paint in different colors.
Dip Easy Grip Stampers into the paint and create designs on a sheet of construction paper. Let the paint dry.
Once the paint is dry, glue crepe paper streamers onto one side of the construction paper so that they will hang down once the lantern is hung.
Roll the paper into a cylinder with the streamers hanging down, and use glue or tape to connect the sides of paper where they meet.
Punch two holes on opposite sides at the top of the cylinder. Place a long string through the holes, tie a knot and hang the lantern wherever you like.
Lanterns can be decorated with glitter, gems and markers or using a variety of other tools such as rollers, fingertip sponges, dabbers, brushes or scrapers.
